TWAL 17 Island Area is a dry forest with mixed vegetarion including Ketapang (Terminaloa Catappa), Waru (Hibiscus Tiliacus), Candlenut (Aleuritis Molucana), Pandan (Pandanus Tectorius), Teak (Tectona Grandis), Kepuh (Sterculia Leotida), Kesambi (Schiechera Oleosal), Sandalwood (Santalum Album), Cinnamon (Mangiver Indica), Tamarind (Tamarindus Indica), Sea Sengon (Albizia Sp), Johar (Casia Siamea), Nyamplung (Calophyllum Inophykum) adn Amppu (Eucaplyptus Urophylla). Almost Throughout the coast of this island group, the area is filled with mangroves that are still intact with dominant species of Rhizopora Sp, Bruquiea Gymnoriza and Sonneratia Sp.

Fauna

Various type of fauna that live in this region include Komodo Dragon (Veranus Komodoensis), East Deer (Cervus Timorensis), Monkeys (Maraca Sp), Weasels (Paradocurus Haemaproditus), Eastern Biawak (Varanus Timorensis), Kuskus (Phalanger Sp), Forest Chicken (Galluu Sp), Crocodile (Crodudulus Porosus) and bird species such as Eagle (Elanus Sp), White Stork (Egretta Sacra), Balck Stork Ciconia Episcopus), Yellow Chest Perkici (Tricoglosus Haemotodus), Parrot (Lerios Domicella), Tekukur (Streptopelia Chinensis), Wontong (Megapodius Reinwarditi) and Bats (Pteropsus Veropinus).
